Iranian ‘Night Nurse’ wins at Turkish fest

Iranian ‘Night Nurse’ wins at the 2020 HAK-İŞ Int’l Short Film Competition in Turkey.

Iranian short flick ‘Night Nurse’ has grabbed the Best International Film award at the 9th edition of the HAK-İŞ International Short Film Competition in Turkey.

Ashkan Hatami’s short film on COVID-19 narrates the story of a nurse at the coronavirus patients’ ward in a hospital.

She has left her daughter at home to go take care of the COVID-19 patients. She later contracts the disease herself and passes away.

According to festival’s official website, “The film ‘Night Nurse’ received the Best International Film Prize from Iran. Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Misbah Demircan presented the award to the director of the film, Ashkan Hatemi”.

The director said they shot the film in a small hospital in Iran and witnessed how nurses fought against the Covid-19 outbreak

The HAK-İŞ International Short Film Competition was held with the theme of Labor and hard work.

The 9th edition of the event attracted great interest and hosted films from around the world.

The 2020 edition of the festival was held on December 3.
